Yesterday the awards for 2001 were handed out.

"The only recognition program of its kind in Canada, the Hall of Fame honours animals who have saved a human life and demonstrated not only courage, but loyalty and intelligence."

What it takes to be a hero

I love hearing animal hero stories. I like to think that my love for my pets goes both ways.

But I must say, these awards are terribly speci-centric. My cats are offended that their ethnic group is not equally represented with dogs.

I love these stories! Sometimes they feature these stories on TV programs, and I always love watching them!

Naomi, tell your cats to get used to it. Dogs always get more attention! Look in your local pet store - how much room is given to cat toys in comparison to dog toys? Maybe dogs NEED more attention.
