Theworm asked me a few questions in a PM, so I'll go ahead and answer them in this thread just in case more have the same questions.
There are 11 (6 boars, 5 gilts) and we call them blue butts because the blue/gray coloring on them. They are from a Hampshire sow (black with white belt) and a Yorkshire (all white) boar. We hope there will be a couple to show and a couple to sell for show. Won't have any idea of how they might turn out until a few weeks from now. The ones that do not work out will be sold for feeder pigs.
This litter is a day early, but we had things in place just in case. Lucy delivered all of them by herself and did a wonderful job. We found them about six this morning and I've been with them most of that time. Vaccinations will be given to each in a few hours. Ear notching after that.
As soon as I can get the time I'll post more pics in a photo albumn. |

I've never seen one shoot out across the crate and bounce of the wall, but there is always a first time.
The smaller ones do come out quickly and that's probably what he means. |
