| | Took Pookie and Prissy there last night and left them. Tracy and I will go back this morning and take care of them for the day, then come home tonight. Saturday and Sunday we'll do it all over again, except we show them on Sunday. Wish the little girls luck. |

Cindy | We'd love for you to come by, Cindy. If you make it look for the "D&T Show Pigs" banner. We'll bring the girls home Sunday. |

Lynn | The Texas State Fair is very good - but I have to say that I think the Ohio State Fair is better.

| | Yeah!
When MrWorm and I were in Grad School in Syracuse, we used to go to the NY State Fair. It was so much fun. I have "a thing" for pigs, so we always hung out in the pig house (pen?). So much fun watching the little ones!
Hope you have a great time.

I hate to go homer on you but...
This state fair is so great they wrote a book and later an Academy Award-winning movie based on the book.
Be sad you missed this Fair this year...:-)

| | :p sleeper. The Iowa State Fair is NOTHING compared to the Minnesota State Fair. We're just a little more humble up north.
But I'll go back to my initial thought that I didn't post...isn't this kind of late for a State Fair? Around these parts, they are all done by Labor Day. Just curious why Texas is so late in the year.

| | LOL, I've been to both the Iowa and Minnesota state fairs and I have to say that the Minnesota fair wins by a nose. It would have taken me two days to see everything - what do Minnesotans do the rest of the year?

who loves the movie State Fair

Lynn | Because the highlight of the Texas fair is the Texas-OU game, which is always in October. So there.

| | Best of luck to the piggies, Slick! I haven't been to the Texas State Fair in years. Big Tex used to scare me when I was a child, but since I'm older and a little taller than I was when I was 6, he doesn't intimidate me much anymore.

| | We took a few, Kurt. I'll post them maybe tomorrow. Right now I'm hog tired and just want to relax a bit.
Results:
Pookie wins a third.
Prissy wins a fifth.
Tracy and Slick win a third for their swine exhibit.
Oh yeah. BJ learned a valuable lesson about boars. He was showing one for a guy because his grandson wasn't able to make it. The boar he was showing wanted to fight with another one that was penned, so BJ tried to break it up. The boar BJ was showing tried to eat his knee off. Ever seen a kid jump six feet vertically and land on the top of a fence? I did. |
