| | I'll be taking in another cat tonight. My two are from the same litter, and have not been around other animals since they were 5 months old. The new cat is the same age - even looks like them, but he's a stranger. Any words of advice? I'm really worried. |

| | We've introduced new kitties once in a while to our brood. Usually put the newbie in a kennel for a day or so to allow them to get to know each other "safely". I let them out to socialize in small bits and pieces (SUPERVISED) over the course of the next couple of days.
Make sure there are at least a couple of litter boxes/food/water dishes so they don't have to share if they don't want to. I'm sure they will be best of friends in just a matter of time.
Barring that...full body armor might be helpful.
Lynn

| | The general consensus that I got when I was starting to wonder if Pixie or Stranger would kill each other was that it takes about a month for cats to accept each other's existence.
In the meantime, Lynn's advice is good. My advice would be to make sure that there's a safe place that the new cat can escape to if needed. They'll usually find one, just make sure it's an acceptable place, and try to make it comfortable for them.

| | I expect to have one or 2 cats under my bed. I may have to hide in the bath tub. Cat's don't like water. |

| | Wow! Everyone seems to have agreed to just ignore everyone. There was a lot of nervous shedding, but no confrontations! This may work out ok. I'm so pleased. I did pull out the cat nip and kept the kids happy, but they seem to be cautiously accepting the situation. |

They would have to get near each other to fight, wouldn't they? |

| | It looks like the one on top is knighting the one on the bottom. I'm sure they are just happy cats acting in a kitty version of Camelot.

| | LOL!
They seem to be off their Shakespear kick now. Birdie hisses if the boys come near her, and the boys are content to ignore each other. | |
