| | In New England? Seeking a Companion Dog? | | http://www.brookslining.com/fitzie.htm
This dog is the senior "kid" in a home that just had a new baby and she isn't handelling it well.
I was horrified to hear the couple (someone I work with and his wife) was planning to put her down so I said give me a couple weeks to get the word out and see if I can get her a home.
Don't worry, I'm sending his to more roups than just this one, including my rough and rowdy truck club - feel free to do the same.
Dog is in Southern NH

| | Re In New England? Seeking a Companion Dog? | | If they can't find a home for the dog, can't they take it to the Humane Society so it will be adopted by a family that wants it.
I hope this story has a happy ending! |

| | Re In New England? Seeking a Companion Dog? | | This is so sad. Isn't there any way for them to integrate the dog into being a "baby owner"? Training? Lots of dog treats? Antianxiety meds? I'm sorry they will have to lose their dog; getting used to a new baby is a big adjustment for everybody.

| | Re In New England? Seeking a Companion Dog? | | The baby is now 3 months old, and quite frankley, even based on my not-a-real-into-kids outlook is really quite docile and well behaved. The dog has been "only kid" for 10 years. When the baby is around, whlie it has not nipped or bitten it, it has hackles raised, growling -it simpy does not accept the new family member. |

| | Re In New England? Seeking a Companion Dog? | | I think the demi-goddesses have finally accepted that Rory is a permanent fixture (they've stopped pooping and peeing outside their litter box). It took over five months, though.

| | Re In New England? Seeking a Companion Dog? | | Fitze looks adorable
I do not fit the requirements (I have kids) nor does my friend who just loves dogs (she already has eight).
Has Fitze found a home?

| | Re In New England? Seeking a Companion Dog? | | Sadly, Fitzie has not found a home yet I hope she finds one soon - I emailed that link to many forum sites and email groups, etc., and also posted it around town. Not much else I can do - I dig Fitzie, but my rotties would squash her like a bug! LOL |

| | Re In New England? Seeking a Companion Dog? | | Leslie, I wonder if this place can be of any help: http://www.petfinder.org/shelters/NY61.html
It's worth it to at least talk to them. We adopted our dog from them, and he came all the way from Puerto Rico.

| | Re In New England? Seeking a Companion Dog? | | Leslie, how about a breed-specific rescue group? Here is a website listing various Westie rescues, including some which seem to serve your area.
