Crazy Cat

Grace is acting very odd. Even for a cat. She's rolling around on the floor meowing and purring. She will come up to me, meow and then make this gutteral sound and run off.

she's not in heat, can't be that-spayed, she's just being odd.

It might be because I re-homed Earl the Pointsetta-she kept trying to eat him. (yes we name our plants-dd named Earl and Violet the Daffodil, Ds named Jimmy the Daffodil and Simmy the Ivy cutting-and Dixie the Daffodil was a joint effort )

I gave the pointsetta to a friend who doesn't have poison plant eating cats.

I've seen this behavior in cats a lot. Ben is a great one for this -- I think it just means that they're nice and relaxed and maybe want to play a little bit -- sort of pet/play time, without a lot of exertion involved. In Ben, it means time for a tummy rub and some love bites and a good hard ear scratch.

If she's exposing her tummy, she's being submissive. In the demi-goddesses, this is not a sign of "rub my tummy" but more a sign of "rub my back/pay attention to me."

Grave us a "drive-by" cuddler. she will jump on my lap, let me pat her for a second then run off. She's not big on being held, but she does let the kids haul her around like a stuffed animal so I can't complain

It occured to me that maybe she's feeling better now that she isn't eating Earl's leaves.

Gotta love having a creature that asks for attention by telling you she'll bite your hand off if you don't scratch her ears.
