The boyfriend had the idea of selling "make your own cat" kits. Then I pointed out that we weren't able to GIVE away the two actual cats we've got. He was crestfallen, as I think he was hoping to prolong his "the store he worked at closed and he'll look for a new job in a week or so" vacation by a couple months.

You could always learn to weave. There are a few people out there who make thread from dog or cat fur and use it to weave or knit.
