| | I need plants that my cat Grace can nibble on and not get sick. We've had to 'rehome' Earl the Pointsetta to my mom's house because she kept eating the leaves, throwing up all over the house BAD KITTY!
I love having plants, and this is the first cat I've ever had that will NOT leave plants alone.

| | Silk plants
I can't have real ones in the house. The cats eat and puke. Have to keep fresh flowers out of their reach too.
My kids ruined a wooden table and broke a ceramic floor tile while trying to dine on fresh flowers. |

| | Oh lord, don't start me on fresh flowers-Someone sent me flowers at work(NOT a romantic gesture-a THANK YOU for going above and beyond and getting two reservations forced into the system) but the babybreath lasted all of two minutes
Yesterday, we came home to find Grace had puked all over the sofa near the door, we've been having some ant problems-and the ants had come in under the door, swarmed up my sofa and were eating the cat puke.
:crybaby: It was NOT a pretty sight.

| | I was th inking hanging plants-but grace is a fairly agile little monkey cat.
I have mild asthma and I breath much better when I have lots of live plants in the house.

| | Oh, and btw, spider plants are supposedly the plants which remove the most indoor allergens. I used to have several and they did seem to help. My problem with cats and plants is, Anna does this weird 'Godfather' thing when she gets mad at me, and pulls plants out by the roots and leaves them on my pillow.

| | Of course, some cats will puke up leaves even if they aren't poisonous to the cat - mine does. She loves leaves, but invariably pukes 'em up.

| | Hmmm... plant leaves are one thing Claude does not try to eat. Grass, however, is a different story.
And Fridai, Claude would go over and eat those ants! He has basically cured our backyard ant problem.

| | Have you tried spraying the leaves of the plant with Bitter Apple?

| | What worked for me was to put aluminum foil around the top of the dirt. Don't know why it worked but it did. |

| | With Kushi, I either had to keep the plants where she could not get them (though that usually meant my office or somewhere without enough light) or use fake plants. The one plant she never seemed to develop a taste for was African violets. I never did a thing to the African violets and she never touched them.

| | I once had a dozen magnificent purple roses. I put the vase way up on top of the Bakers Shelf so that I could enjoy them without the cats munching. 5am the next morning: CRASH, CRACK SPLATTER, BOOM, MEOW! Race out - the floor was covered with water, shattered vase, and rose petals. A chunk of kitchen floor tile had broken. It was not a happy moment. |
