Shelters put animals down on day five. And yes, I have a cat. His name is Inigo and he thinks he is a dog. And he REALLY doesn't like children.
I'll tell you the story (which drives G nuts).
I went to get a cat. They had one unadoptable... an old Siamese with no teeth. I went to get HIM but someone had already adopted him. They had this one cat scheduled to be put down the next day. Abandoned at the shelter. growled and slashed at everyone. I wanted to see him. They had to put us in a room and he hid under a desk. But when I finally caught him and petted him, he purred. So I took him.
He'd been neutered, but they left the sutures in and they had grown into his fur. His tail had been broken at some point, and has a "crook" at the end. He acts exactly like a dog, and the best we can figure is that he waswith a family of kids who may have abused him, because he does NOT like children. But he';ll come when called, sit, beg, and roll over.
