Cindy, keep Dixie and Libby away from the yeast rolls

Don't know how much baking you do, but here's a warning story:

Jasper and The Uncooked Yeast Rolls by Leslie (AKA Ensign Elizabeth Houston) T. — funny stories, family, thanksgiving | Gather

WARNING: this story is every bit as funny as A Cindy Story (trademark pending), so don't be drinking or eating while reading!

O M G

I need to find that story again. Every year I think about it and every year I stress out trying to find it and when I do I do the PippaPeeInMyPants thing.

I think it was an elk though. Or was it a deer? Doesn't matter it was freaking hilarious.

OMG, I just tried to find it and I can't. There were these dogs, and they claimed this dead elk/deer carcass as their own and wouldn't come out.

It was so funny I am laughing just thinking about it.

And I can't read Melanie's story at work, access filter denied. But I'm imagining.....

Re Cindy, keep Dixie and Libby away from the yeast rolls

It's just not fair that I read the elk story and the breadroll story on the same day. I haven't laughed this much in days.

Years ago we had friends who were the devoted slaves of a dachshund. They went out for a while, leaving their pup safe at home, they thought. On returning, they discovered that their weinerhund had opened a cupboard, gotten into a package of charco-snaps, and eaten them all up. Being very thirsty after eating what was basically a bag of charcoal, he then drank up all his water. He couldn't stand up because his belly was so swollen that his feet couldn't touch the ground. First they laughed until they cried, then they called the vet. Their dog lived to give them many years more of very entertaining moments.

Re Cindy, keep Dixie and Libby away from the yeast rolls

One of our greyhounds once ate a two pound bag of Hershey's Kisses. The day after we got the monthly newsletter from the Greyhounds of America folks with the big article about how greyhounds are extremely sensitive to chocolate and should never EVER eat ANY because it will KILL them.

That poor dumb dog had the world's busiest guardian angel sitting on his shoulder all dang day.

Re Cindy, keep Dixie and Libby away from the yeast rolls

When we first got Harley she weighed six pounds and before I learned the ins and outs of puppy proofing my kitchen, she nosed her way into my baking cupboard and ate a 12 ounce package of chocolate chips. I spent the entire night forcing an angry puppy to vomit. My bathroom was a disaster and even now, all chocolate is stored on top of the refrigerator. I swear it's the one place she can't figure out how to reach.

Re Cindy, keep Dixie and Libby away from the yeast rolls

When Rex ate the rat poison, I told the vet that he'd eaten an entire box of Cocoa Crispies the day before, but he told me it was unlikely it was making him sick. Milk and even dark chocolate are not as dangerous as we think...it's the baking chocolate that's really deadly.
