Don't they sound just like a someone crying? They make the weirdest noise. Very pretty though. Did you know they perch in trees?

When #2 was little, my youngest SIL came to visit, and we took the boys to the zoo. As usual, #2 needed to nurse. SIL hated bodily functions, so she took #1 to see something. And minutes later, she came running back, and shouted,"Oh for heaven's sake! Must you make so much noise?" Of course, in her charming British accent.
The people around us could not stop laughing. I was sitting there calmly nursing #2 and a large peacock was screeching in front of us. I am still not sure what I ever did prior to that day which made her suspect that I was making that sound. |
