So my new theory is that cats have guided human evolution and civilization. Their greatest achievement so far has been the development of the laser pointer. Their second is the internet. That's right, cat's, not Al Gore, created the internet. Mostly as a way of convincing the humans of OTHER cats to put up pictures of those OTHER cats being stupid or silly, so that they can look pictures of OTHER cats being stupid or silly and feel naturally superior.
OK, so it needs work. But, and I'm sure the boyfriend will vouch for me on this, it's plausible, if only because I know for a fact that Pixie is WAY smarter than Al. And much more photogenic and personable.
So, anyway, for when you've finished with your daily doses of Kitten War, My Cat Hates You, Stuff On My Cat and The Daily Kitten, I present I Can Has Cheezburger? A friend describes the site as a place "where people send their loopy cat pictures with a peculiar style of captioning: intentionally misspelled and dorky syntax as if the cats themselves were talking in a weird, naive way."

I've been sending pictures from that site to people all day. I love it, but then I forget all about it. But today I discovered they have an email alert system
