That’s right, my little baby turned one yesterday!
The birthday girl got ice cream in the afternoon (Frosty Paws) and absolutely loved it! She was so funny and kept looking for more once it was done.
Like any good parents on a first birthday, we absolutely spoiled her. In the evening we “opened” her presents (in other words, pulled them out of the shopping bags). I pulled her first toy out of the bag, a new knotted rope, and she went nuts trying to get it while I was trying to get the packaging off. She took off shaking it like crazy. Then I pulled her second toy out of the bag, a long tube-shaped tennis ball thing with a rope on it, and she went crazy again while I tried to get the packaging off. She took it and played with it a little bit, but by then she had things figure out and came back and started nosing into the bag I still had on my lap, expecting more presents. Unfortunately it was empty, but Nick had another bag with a few treats in it. She got a vanilla rawhide bone, which she couldn’t quite figure out at first because it was so big. After she chewed on it for a little bit, she came back to nose in the bag again, and got her last present, a big bone-shaped treat with her name on it. After she ate a bit of it, she was back to nosing into the bags, expecting more. Finally she figured it out and went off to play with her new toys and chew on her new rawhide. When we went down into the basement to have dinner, she brought her rawhide with and ate over half of it, barely stopping to come up for air.
All in all, it was a great birthday.
