Angry More harmful dog food!

I've just finished cleaning up after the two girlies yet again. I bought them some chicken jerky treats for their stockings. The lable says 'organic, free-run chicken and flax seeds'. The first time they got these treats they both threw up. I assumed it was because they each got a large piece and neither really bothered to chew. So, the next time I broke the treats up a bit. Libs didn't want hers but Dixie ate both, and got sick. Today, I chopped the treats up, Libby had a couple of bites and Dixie gobbled hers. Dixie was throwing up almost before she finished, and Libs barfed shortly after eating.

I was reading stuff on Snopes tonight, and found this article:

More contaminated dog treats

This shit is made in China- it's printed on the label just next to the fold in the wrapper, so unless you pull on it the China part is hidden. Which I'm sure is not intentional.

When is someone- anyone=- going to get this shit to stop coming into our country? Is there a timeline for getting the poisonous food out of our pet stores? I'm giving them tons of water and watching them, and this time I've saved the package to send away to Cornell vet school. But, I hate that we are allowing any foods from China to be sold here. I'm just furious!

They're good. They both drank like crazy all night long. I slept with Dixie last night and she was even fartier than usual, but they're both playing this a.m. Neither wanted breakfast, which is strange. I just wish that someone would figure out how to keep food from China from even getting into this country. Is it going to take someone's child dying, God forbid??

Oh, these haven't been recalled yet. The tests are being done, melamine is the only contaminent ruled out so far. These treats are still on the shelves- I got these at Target. I'll be calling them tomorrow.

The thing is, I don't think anyone will think contaminated food for some time after SEVERAL kids have died.

BTW, my 12yo pointed out that a significant number of the Halloween candies he received were imported. He ate those that came from Europe and Canada and turned down EVERYTHING else. He also pointed out that some of our OTC generics are imported and made me replace his toothpaste which didn't come from China, but he's not trusting ANY third-world countries.

Re More harmful dog food!

It's sad that we have to learn to be paranoid to stay healthy.

I'm curious about Target's response.
