| | Help--my cat swallowed dental floss... | | I flossed my teeth and thought I'd put the floss in the trash when I got up, and the cat jumped on the table and swallowed the floss.
I am just picturing her getting it all twisted up in her intestines. And she was just spayed two weeks ago.
Is this a possible scenario, or am I being paranoid? |

| | Re Help--my cat swallowed dental floss... | | From what I know, it *is* a possible scenario. It's not a "right this second" thing, but I'd call the vet first thing in the morning.
Cats are bad to swallow threads and get them all tangled up inside.
Hope it will be okay and that everything will, um, come out okay in the end..... Poor kitty!

| | Re Help--my cat swallowed dental floss... | | Ugh, when I was a kid, my babysitter's cat ate a SPOOL of thread. That was bad... I don't remember too much of the details, but poor Suzie Kitty had to have abdominal surgery to get the thread out.
I hope your kitty is ok, please update us! |

| | Re Help--my cat swallowed dental floss... | | So far Mariella seems fine, but we will keep a close eye on her.
After just having dogs for the past twenty years, I had forgotten exactly how much trouble cats can get into.
Thanks for your advice and concern. |
