Affilliate Links Still Not Allowed

Just a reminder, while the board does use a few affilliate links to help cover site costs and clearly states that those links are affilliate links, members are NOT allowed to use the board for financial gain in the form of affilliate promotions.

When new members do it, they are promptly warned and the posts are deleted outright. Longstanding members will be asked to update the links to non-affilliate ids.

If you are posting links from another site, please either strip off any affilliate tags or make sure the link is a direct link and not a redirect through some other site.

Like when the EA tag goes on an Amazon link automagically. Some of us have those same links on our web sites... the only one I can think of I might have goofed is Amazon, but I was assuming my affiliate link would get stripped and substituted with EA's info

Don't sweat it I realize that when we copy stuff from other boards, the referrals sometimes come along. It was an oops that was fixed and the post was more to remind people to check the links they grab before they post em.
