It's a possible way to temporarily delete a post so that moderators can discuss it before either restoring it or deleting it.

...um, will people take offense at the terminology ("nuked") as opposed to something less... oh, I don't know... "war-like," such as "held" or "in review"?

Aren't moderators supposed to be compassionate people dedicated to helping the forums? Why then do they change around people's posts? |

Zach, the moderators are here to ensure that things don't get out of hand in the heat of the moment and to keep trolls or spammers from ruining the board for the majority of user.

Change them around by removing names, offensive flames, etc. yes. It's usually better than deleting the post totally.

Zach, it's happened to many of us. I've had posts edited and entire threads deleted before. I live with it. You will, too, if it ever happens.

If you are so concerned, read the TOS, and then you will understand the role of the mod or admin, and why they float around keeping the peace.
If you write something that needs to me moderated to the point that the meaning must be changed, it probably should be deleted.
