Cool new technology or violation of your rights?

Personally, I think stuff like this is cool and convienient. Others oppose it as an invasion of privacy.

cristina1 will become famous soon enough

Just curious - how would this affect cases such as identical twins? Or people with very strong resemblences to each other?

I'm not sure how I feel about this issue. It seems like cameras are already in a lot of places. We use the tapes to track criminals already. But its by human eye and not machine that we do it.

But thinking of the FBI scanning the faces of a crowd looking for criminals is just too much. It's downright scary. At least with a camera at a bank machine, unless there is a problem, the tapes will never be viewed. This seems like another way to track where each individual person goes.

erik_kosberg is on a distinguished road

It all boils down to who has access to the database. What about the “access control” that they talk about? If I go to work for CompanyX and they obtain my biometric information (for example, to control access to a secure building) who else gets that information? The police? My next employer? Will all banks require biometric information to access ATMs or other services?

How accurate would such a database really be? Maybe you can’t change your fingerprint, but you certainly can change your face. A plastic surgeon can give you a new nose; wouldn‘t that alter the biometric information ?
