| | If you go to the who's online page, you will see a new link. Clicking it will inivite your friend to our chatroom. If you don't want people inviting you to chat, you can turn off the popups in your user control panel right below the setting for PM popup.

| | Somewiseass invited me to chat and wasn't even IN chat. So, I improved the feature. It now tells WHO invited you to chat.

| | Margaret,
How could you say that!
You know I love you all like distant acquaintances that I never actually met.
Now I'm hurt!
Sob.

We're not good enough for you, huh? |

Actually, I didn't receive both links. Got one from you, though. Came back when I got that one.

| | If somebody else invites you before you see the first invitation, the invitation is overwritten and you only see the latest one.

| | I am trying to think of a non-invasive way to get a list of online users that is easily accessible from the chat room. Then, it would be easier to invite people to chat.

| | In the old applet it was its own window. So, one still had their EA window open, and a new window opened for the applet.
I think it would be easy for all users to navigate that system. You'd already have the other window open to invite in your buddies.
Just my two cents. You'll prolly come up with something with more razzamatazz |

| | BTW, Amy.
Apparently there is some kind of time delay in this invite thing. I came back today to see an invite from you pop up as soon as I got here. Only thing is, you weren't online at the time and I hadn't been here in about 12 hours.
Is there any way for it to cancel once the invitee leaves the site? Or when the invitor (inviter?) leaves chat? |

| | OK. It shouldn't pop up any more 15 minutes after the invitation is issued.

| | Tom, Margaret answered your question above. The Who's Online page is found by clicking on Currently Active Users on the forum home.
However, this hack is much easier to use now because the list of online people appears above the chat room in a frame that refreshes every 5 minutes. Clicking on one of those names invites the person to chat.
A chat invitation button can also be found on people's posts if they are online and willing to accept invitations.

| | I tried to answer that question already, but I'll elaborate.
On the main forums page (the one that lists all the forums) there is a heading that says "currently active users". If you click on that, it takes you to the "whose online" page. |

Amy | Margaret, Amy. . .I was being incredibly dense...
I had not realized, until this eureka moment, that those 'Titles' were links...
I had always clicked user-cp to go to my PMs. Wow! this new feature (well, new to me anyway...) is great !!
...tom...
' who's dying to use a smilie right there. . . '
P.S. Which is why I thought Margaret was talking in code when she said 'Currently active users' earlier in the thread.
