Question Email Alerts

Which is better? No email alerts or duplicate copies of email alerts? Pick your favorite bug.

eplovejoy is an unknown quantity at this point

So far, two people have voted for no e-mail alerts.

Why? If you don't want them, can't you simply not sign up for them?

Sorry Peter, I phrased the poll badly. It seem that when it comes to email alerts we have two choices of bugs 1) don't get alerts at all, or 2) get many copies of them. (Assuming that you signed up for them)

Which is the better of the two bugs?

Amy

Well, I get enough junk e-mail as it is; I like getting alerts, but I'd rather just not get them and go through my WOT than have my mailbox clogged...

*sigh* Well, I'm one of the idjits who can't read a question correctly. I voted for "no e-mail alerts" because I picked that as the worse bug--and now I can't change my answer.

Good think I don't have to take a GRE or anything like it in the near future.

For the real answer: I'd much rather have duplicates and delete than not get any at all--especially when I've gone two weeks without reading or rating much of anything.

I'd prefer to receive multiple copies rather than nothing at all.

When you don't receive a notice you don't know if it is because there was nothing to send or if it wasn't sent because it was broken.

I prefer the duplicate copies to the triplicates that I received for awhile too.

Interesting poll that seems to reflect our faith in site stability. We don't get a choice of having the e-mail alerts work properly--guess that wouldn't be a very realistic option.

As for me, I'm feeling neglected. While everyone else has been complaining about getting duplicate & triplicate alerts, my mailbox has remained empty. So, hey, just forward those duplicates to me (just kidding, please don't).
