It's nice to see a court using common sense for a change

A California court ruled that a woman is allowed to sue the owners of the dogs that mauled her female partner to death.

Typically, only surviving spouses or relatives can sue. However, the court ruled that because the two could NOT marry under California law, she should be allowed to sue even though did not qualify as surviving spouse.

Yeah, I'm glad for that, although I wonder if it's going to hold up on appeal.

Good for the court- wise ruling, imo!

Now, if the state would go the next logical step, and agree that as adults, each of us is allowed to choose his/her own life partner in a legally binding manner, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, that would really be cause for celebration.
