I was contacted Wednesday evening by a website I volunteer at. They wanted me to apply for Assistance Community Moderator..a paying position and only being opened up to a select few at the moment. Yay! It's my dream job...stay at home doing exactly what I'm doing now and getting paid for it. So I said yes.
I get the application and the first half is simple..answering questions about how the community at the site has touched your life..etc. The second half is ripped straight from the bowels of hell.
There is more than 500 boards on the 4 channels this site owns. One of my challenges is to find 3 interesting posts. It took me the ENTIRE night to think of one.. two more to go..most of the posts are about boring stuff that happened to people that day. Keeping in mind that with those 500 + boards there is usually more than 50 posts on each by noon AND they begin a new board daily.
Another challenge is to suggest 3 new boards and 3 new chats.. the chats were fairly easy..the boards...huh uh. They've got EVERYTHING known to man covered at these sites!
Then I have to find one amazing story on the site which is worthy of being featured on the front page and in the newsletter.
AHHH!

I have scoured this site for more than 24 hours right now. I can see how this would knock out the weak but they're not going to have sane candidates in the final round. It did give me a whole new appreciation for this network.
And all of this has to be done by 5 pm tomorrow along with my other regular duties. Add in a healthy dose of morning sickness and a raging headache from staring at the screen all day and you've got me

LOL I really do want this job..it's nowhere this stressful or difficult and it's currently paying more than Epinions is.
Light a candle, say a prayer, or peg my name on your wall of hope. I'll need it all!
Anyone got a job application horror story that's as bad as this one?
