| | I really thought I had seen it all on epinions. But no. I just found someone who had posted a review both on eps and on bn.com, and I was leaving a comment to explain the TOS (it was a relative newbie) and my NH rating. I included the web address at which the bn review appears.
Epinions would not let me comment this way, saying "this field contains A WORD THAT IS TOO LONG." Huh? Not the field is full, because i could have written a much longer comment than I did. But rather, a WORD that's too long. Can a computer person please fill me in here? Is it a text-wrapping issue?

| | Based on what you wrote, it sounds like the URL is too long to be considered a word. |

| | | It very likely is a word-wrapping issue, likely left over from before the most recent design changes.
The problem, at least with the previous page designs, is that someone who hated banner ads could add a string of all "-" or "+" (as I saw in one case last week) to push everything on the right side of the page off the browser window.
Now that Epinions has moved the ads over to the left, they might want to change that, as the only thing that will be lost is ratings. That's still something that they might not want people to lose though. I can see someone who writes crap adding that to attempt to hide their low ratings. |

| | http://www.makeashorterlink.com would probably be a good workaround. |

| | I reported this as a bug a week ago or so. I tried to leave a comment for someone recommending a place for them to post in the Palm editorial section - and the URL to the epinions editorial section was too long!
