| | The discussion about how to convince wayward Epinionators and Epinionatrixes to start writing again intrigued me, so I thought that this might be a good place to start a list of those who are MIA.
Who do you miss who is no longer writing? What made that person irresistible to you in the first place?
Ok, I'll go first:
I miss pracowity. He was an amazing writer, and I occasionally reread two of my favourite reviews by him: a review of the Seamus Heaney translation of Beowulf, and a review of the book [i]Millions Of Cats[/i} which was one of the best book reviews I've read here on Epinions.
I also miss porphyria. Just read her review about McDonald's - but remember not to drink while reading. Your monitor will thank you later.
Now- add someone to this Hall Of Fame!

| | I miss fdknight. He wrote great reviews on musicals and cast recordings. He was also a gentleman who left thoughtful, interesting comments.

| | | Wow. On checking through the people on my WOT I discovered that most of them didn't write in the month of April (the people that are sporadic writers didn't). Kinda weird there I thought but I didn't either (and hadn't been really paying attention to things then either)...

| | These are a few of my favorite writers who have been MIA for the past few months. ZentropaJK is definitely the film critic whose departure is a valuable loss to the Epinions movie community. He has written some of the most thorough, comprehensive, and entertaining reviews on Epinions. He deleted most of his reviews and now resides on a site titled "Written By Me," but his loss has had a major impact on the film community at Epinions. SmartGrl03 is one of the most original writers on Epinions. It was always a pleasure reading her wonderful thoughts about life and school. Lars_Lindahl , JonTurner and Elerad are three top notch movie critics who will be tough to replace. Lars and Elerad have officially retired from Epinions... trphilip is another major loss.

| | Heck, there are at least 3 of you posting in this thread who don't write enough and you're still here! The same goes for a number of the regulars on this board.
I miss Roadiem, of course, and sometimes run across a comment or note of his that makes me really low for a while. I liked a couple of Dan Epstein's restaurant reviews enough to make me not review the same ones. I also miss Jon Harney (driver4t5) because passionate writing is always fun to read.
Okay, this is a depressing topic for a rainy Monday night... |

I know people loose interest, I know people move on, I know some people got fed up with the site when it changed but there are just some people that I wish would come back

| | some almost missing members... | | I really have not noticed a lot of people whom I followed that are gone, but I have noticed that Jens, 401402, has not written any of his more famous technical reviews since the first of the year, only a couple of Epinion editorials.. so he is almost MIA....
I know LadyVamp left on a sour note with most of everyone, but I really did enjoy her writing..

| | Has anyone heard from zapbot (Don Morrison)? | | Hi all ~
I've not been around either here or Epinions much since the big downtime, but I've so missed zapbot (aka Don Morrison) since last year!
I fell in love with his writing on Epinions, and followed him to themestream, where he was posting chapters of his soon to be published novel-in-progress. Of course, since themestream went bye-bye, there went the novel, and it was getting rather gripping!
I tried to email him but got no reply, so I was wondering if anyone else had heard what he's been up to recently, or if he's (hopefully!) just super-busy with getting his book published? I'd be so grateful if anyone would care to let me know if they've heard anything.

| | it isn't polite to talk about people like they aren't in the room. It's like we, who haven't written lately, have some sort of (whispers)mental illness or cancer. I mean, we can still hear you.
Maybe it is some sort of disease. I think I'll call mine apathy.
:p
