The damn things are actually quite interesting and useful. If you log out, you can see examples of them. Not every thread has great ones. But, if the thread has good keywords in the first post, the ads can be cool.

This is now a setting in the options section of your usercp. It will only have an effect on premium members. Others will continue to see them whether they opt in or not.

Do you get stats on whether links are clicked or not? And which ones?

I get stats on whether they are clicked or not. And since I added this kind, that number has gone up. I don't get specifics as to which links are clicked though. I would dearly love to know though.

When I receive my 'updated thread' notifications to my gmail account I see some interesting links too. The latest one was a link to buy edible swallow nests

LOL. Beanie was freaking out about bird's nest soup just the other day. She found an old nest (we think maybe chickadee) and brought it to my parents' to show them and my father wanted to make soup out of it.

I realize it's a cultural thing, but eyew.
