Scanners and Children's Art | | Okay, we're packrats. We kept all the school papers and art work. Figure 8-10 boxes worth of stuff all neatly stacked in the attic. A friend who has younger children let me in on his secret for avoiding the paper crush. He scans them and save them as .jpg files!
What inspired genius! Figure that these files are going to be able to be read for years to come. Now, when Junior or Missy comes home from school, plop the paper in the scanner and save it as a file to their folder. Burn a CD for each school year and voila.
Kalynda can frequently watch television while I'm working on the computer, and I've taken to bouncing back and forth between scanner, EA and other web stuff while sitting with her. Way cool.
The scanning obviously takes a long time, but if you start now with the current stuff and work your way backwards, you should be fine.
Don't know if anyone here likes the idea, but it was share with you guys or send it to Hints From Heloise. The pay is the same, but I don't think she knows what a scanner is. |
