I've read about this article from a number of sources. Many of them state the if the Supreme Court had delayed a day Gore would be President. Of course they choose to ignore the fact that none of the gazillion recounts conducted over the months declared Gore decisively the winner, most were neutral or had Bush prevailing.

I also love how eight months later the the song is changing from "Bush played politics with the Supreme Court and won the Presidency" to "all parties played politics with the Supreme Court and we're ticked they other guy won".

I did find the Erin Brokovich angle amusing. Made me glad to be a Republican

That speculation wasn’t in the article that I saw. If it had gone to Congress, Bush might well have won but that too is only speculation.
