If any of my fellow NYC residents are suddenly realizing that they entirely forgot about their Sept 15 estimated tax payment to the IRS, a word of reassurance: the IRS has extended the deadline to January 15 for NYC residents only (I wouldn't be surprised if any non-NYC-er who can demonstrate having been directly affected by the events could also get an extension).
I, of course, got the payment mailed in on Monday night under the (apparently prescient) anticipation that the week would turn out to be hectic.
