I'm working on a review of a new DVD that I purchased. One of the bits of information included in the packaging was that Easter Eggs (goodies) were hidden on the CD. My daughter read the package and immediately started badgering me to find them. After multiple hours in trying to find them, I turned the job over to my husband, who also spent a couple unsuccessful hours looking for them.
Finally, I emailed the maker of the DVD and begged for a hint. Someone there was most helpful and actually sent me the answer.
Now for the question... Should I reveal the location of the Easter Eggs in my review?
Seems to me that the way to be helpful to the most people would be to include information about where the Easter Eggs are located (for the benefit of those who don't want to spend their own effort looking) but to include it in a marked section of the review to allow readers who want to search on their own to skip the information as they read. Lots of people do that with book and movie spoilers. It's a way to meet everyone's needs while avoiding ruining anyone's enjoyment.

Well, the same sort of thing happens with movies. There are people that wouldn't dare reveal major plot details about films that don't mind at all revealing cool little things about films (same sort of 'Easter egg' thing). I would say that you should probably do a spoiler warning for them if you want to include the info, especially since that is something they mention on the cover...
NEVER reveal spoilers in a review or a distribution-list e-mail. Very bad form. Even with a warning, I don't think they're approproate for a review.
If you have to, post a link in a comment to where the spoilers are available if people are interested in seeing them. Otherwise, just review the product and refer to their being Easter Eggs and them being difficult to find.
