| | Yeah, I've been in chat the last 45 minutes and we've been consoling each other because it hasn't been moving along as fast as we'd hoped - and we thought it was stuck at just pennies per person! I'm glad they finally got the note up, I thought they were through already!

| | Geez! Are people really seeing changes? I was hoping that their time listing was off and they really hadn't gotten into it yet--because I still have NOTHING.

| | | Well, I am not seeing changes on the regular site thing but I cashed out my money (leaving some in there so I might redeem again sometime soon in the future) and my total there had jumped by a bit so I would guess it is moving through the system...

| | | Alright,
I truly hope that a couple hours means - wait until you wake up tomorrow. If not, I just got 2% of what I usually get per month.

| | I noticed my account was suddenly up a buck, and I figured that was it for my IS this month. Then I saw the notice that it was in the process of being deposited, so I figure I'm due for a little more.

| | | Okay, it's the next morning for me.
I see that the verbage has changed. IS is now deposited and they're working on putting money in for editors.
Check in fellow editors and let us know if you see a main difference between IS and editor rates. |

| | I saw no difference between "editor" and basic IS rates. I looked through the reviews last night and won't be doing it again to see if any pennies were added. The system hasn't updated yet so there may be a pleasant surprise, but then again, I could sprout wings. |

| | I see nothing that indicates some editor BONUS is anywhere and if anyone has any suggestions that would help me cash out (the last time I did was 8/9) please let me know. Nothing I am doing is allowing me to cash out. They do have a phone # but I can't find it - doesn anyone know it?? thanks

| | Well, I saw a huge difference between my IS and the editor bonus (maybe because I'm an editor in two different categories?). My income share was X amount, my editor bonus (total) was 3.66X; dividing the editor bonus in half, it's 2X.
I'm getting fond of that editor bonus really quickly.
Of course, I'll probably lose the clubs next month. C'est l'epinion.

| | Mine went up this month. Guess I am worth more to them when I don't write
Think they are telling me to keep my big mouth shut?

| | Same here, Amy. The lump sum simply showed up sometime today. Pretty cool. (Still not worth the hours on a per hour basis, but beats a sharp stick in the eye) |

| | Well, they were slowish getting the amounts in the accounts, or it seemed that way waiting, but even though my income share was 1/3 what it normally is (writing less as I'm busy reading and rating & doing my editory things), the editor bonus was pretty nice.
How did everyone else do, without going into actual figures? |

| | Pearman, The problem is, some people DID used to make actual money at Epinions. And, some of those people insist on bragging about it and getting people unhappy and upset.
Also, some people used to lie about what they were earning, and caused all sorts of problems. No numbers just seems to work better.

| | It's funny, or not. When people talk about the large amount of money they still make, I get rather flabbergasted by the figures. I guess because I am basically an open book and am honest, I assume others are the same way.
If I was making lots of money I wouldn't brag about it, as I wouldn't want to upset other people. Alas, I won't have to worry about it. I'm not here for that anyway, but any small amount is icing on the cake.
Thanks for opening my eyes. |

| | | Ummm... Well, personally I got ummm... basically an average IS but considering that I wrote 5 reviews in a month (my record--the best I had done before that was four reviews in my first month...), it wasn't that impressive.

| | Let me explain, Ander, or others. I was not thrilled with my IS. It was about a third of what I normally get. My editor bonus made me feel better however. |
09-23-2001, 04:15 AM
| | | Yeah... I was just replying to the thread in general. I had figured that you weren't pleased with your IS. I could rephrase mine
I generally write a review or so a month. Last month I wrote five reviews. I got about the same average IS that I have in the past.
That isn't good. However, it is better than two months ago (when I didn't get *any* IS). Shrug. Anything is better than nothing.

| | Ah, got it about the no numbers thing. Silly me.
And I have noticed my nonmember hits go down in general over the last few months. I'm thinking it's because Epinions has been down so much, but it might just be that I haven't been around to write or read any Epinions lately. Now I'm back and I have a couple epinions in the works, but I'm more focused on working on a stricter rating code to *possibly* become an editor someday
Has anyone else noticed a decline in nonmember hits? |

Ander, actually I have noticed my Nonmember hits go up a little. I don't get a huge amount of them unfortunately, but I noticed when I started adding the name of the product in my title it does go up. I have very weird Nonmember hits on my Hard_to_Please write off submission. They are so much higher than other nonmember hits I decided it was probably a bug. On the other hand, I used the expression "love fest" as the write off was called in the title, so maybe people interested in that clicked on the review!!
Additionally, when I can, I send a copy of the review to the company, to their marketing people. Some will ignore the review, but most are happy to get feedback from the consumer. Sometimes they will send to others in their company. One cosmetics type company sent me an email saying how much everyone always loves my reviews, good or bad, about their products. Boy, did that make me feel good!
Not sure if this helps you, Ander, but maybe it will benefit someone. It took me a while to get the drift and I am still learning! | |
