If a potential American attack on Afghanistan may be limited in its success for logistical reasons, maybe we’ll just blast Iraq instead. It would do nothing to punish the actual planners of the WTC and Pentagon attacks, but it would raise the spirits on the home front of those who want to see somebody get bombed.

And those French have gotten mighty uppity, haven’t they? Consider the possibilities.
