Featured Reviewer

Does anyone know how the featured reviewer on the main page works now? It used to be a rotation of about ten or fifteen people that had profile pictures up and requested to be one.

Tonight, I was checking by refreshing, and it appears that the number of people featured is endless. Sometimes a person's picutre or name would come up more than once but new ones kept following even these duplicates. I finally, after a year, got a pic up on my profile page last month. It asked if I would like to be considered for featured reviewer, I said yes. I haven't seen it come up yet (nor did it appear during my refreshing session.

Does anyone know how they are presently selecting these reviewers?

I believe the pool of featured reviewers comes from all of the Top Reviewers and Editors.

But you're right, the list is endless. I suspect that there are a hundred or so given the number of Top Reviewers and Editors.

I have this theory--which could very well be wrong--that an individual user who is in the Featured Reviewer line-up will never ever see themselves when they're looking, not matter how many times they Refresh. I've had people tell me I was there, but I have never ever seen myself livin' large on the front page.

I never used to see myself. But in the past month or so, I've seen myself twice. The first time, my "likes" review was the first one I ever wrote. The second time, my "likes" review was a review that shows "We're sorry, but there's been a problem." (All of my software reviews are returning that error. )

I've seen you several times. For awhile, it seemed that you owned the front page.

I'm pretty sure that if you're an editor, you have to check a little box that's on the "Edit Profile Page" page, too.

I had that same theory and was almost shocked when I saw myself for the first time about a week ago.
