I used them to buy a Directv satellite system. I really love this system, but last night I got a new reason to love it.
Both of the remotes that came with the system have started acting flaky. They randomly lose their programming that allows them to control the televisions, vcrs and dvd player. I patiently reprogrammed them each time, but they kept flaking out - even with new batteries.
Last night I called Directv looking for a clue. I really shouldn't have called them - I didn't buy the equipment from them. It's made by RCA. I sat on hold for quite a while, but when I finally got to talk to a new person, I described the problem with the remotes. I was prepared to be told that I would need to call RCA or Best Buy.
However, to my surprise and delight, she shipped out two free new remote controls. I'm impressed
