| | My husband left earlier today to go into town to pay some bills and do a little shopping....
...ya know...some spouses come home with a movie rental, fast food or something along those lines. Not mine!
My husband: "Hey honey, guess what I picked up today!"
Me: "Whadya get?"
My husband: (rolls up sleeve to show off another tattoo)

| | With my hubby it's earrings. He's up to seven piercings in one ear and nine in the other. Luckily he's run out of room on his ears... unluckily, he might decide to get holes punched in other body parts

| My hubster already did that, he came home from vacation once with his nipples pierced. That phase quickly ended once our son came along. I advised him to take the rings out BEFORE the baby decided to "assist" him in removing them. For the first time he actually listened to me, and had the rings removed a week before Dolph was born...I haven't seen them since.

| | My friend John, who incidentally will be my best man at my wedding, is not allowed to go shoe shopping alone. His wife will not allow it under any circumstances.
I bet you think he buys too many shoes. Wrong!
The last two times he went shoe shopping by himself he came back with a new car each time! |

Okay so how does your friend do that? He makes a wrong turn and ends up in an auto dealership instead of Footlocker?
Val--
So there's an industryin town you didn't tell us about. So what was it a tattoo of?

So there's an industry in town you didn't tell us about. So what was it a tattoo of?
| It's yet another skull motif. This is Erik's 3rd tattoo on that arm, and it's all skulls....the first one was a free from skull design, the second was a freeform skull band underneath (with flames to make it appear that the skull above is a smoke image), and this one is yet another skull design on the inside of the same arm. They are all pretty much freeform because he wants to make it a full sleeve of skulls eventually. I don't know what it is about the skulls....I think Erik just thinks they are "cool".
As far as tattoos in general go over here, it's widely accepted practice. Just about everyone in town has one (several is usually the case) except me. The most popular designs are of vikings and norse mythology (figures, eh?). And it's not just the "kids" either....it's everyone. Old ladies, businessmen...you name it. I don't know a single person who doesn't have a tattoo of some sort. Even neck and full arm tats are common with women.
As far as the industry goes, there is only ONE tattoo artist here in town, and that's Peppe. He owns the only joint in Piteå, "Left Hand Tattoo" (he's a leftie)
The good news is, Erik and Peppe have been the best of friends since they were little kids, so Peppe never charges anything for inking him up. (He had dinner with us last night as a matter o' fact!) Peppe had a cancellation today, so Erik stopped by to kill some time, and I guess they decided to add another skull to his arm somewhere in the process.
Peppe does some great work, and he's a real sweetie...however every time I see him he tries to get me in the chair. He does great work, and I've always wanted a tattoo, but it wasn't ment to be.
I've always wanted an arch of purple flames on my lower back, but since Dolph was born my sexy "bikini bod" has enough stretchmarks to keep me permanantly in "one piece swimwear land" for good. I don't see much point in a tattoo if I won't get to show it off. Maybe I could get Peppe to put zebra stripes all over me to cover up the stretchmarks? Nah.......
Oh well....

Hey, come on-I took the pericing out when I had kids- I HAD TOO-bfeeding would have been difficult had I not-
no matter how civilized and nice I look, I'm always going to be somewhat wild inside-

I think that now we are in our 50's, my husband would be much more likely to get a hair transplant.
Me? If I were really, really brave I'd get laservision surgery--not so much for cosmetic purposes, since I wear contacts anyway, but just for the miracle of being able to wake up in the morning, open my eyes, and see.
This year, dental and orthodontic expenses are maxing out our flexible spending account, but I'm really thinking about it next year. |

Oh, that would be a funny sight. I can't imagine the look on my daughter's face if she saw something on my breast. She already gets upset if I have hair in my face, and she pushes it out of the way.
My husband would never get anything pierced, and I seriously doubt he would get a tattoo. I'd be surprised if he went out with the guys for a beer after work--especially since he doesn't drink. Geez, he is boring, isn't he?

Even if you had to wear glasses/contacts, the prescription would be lower and you could still see better. Provided it wasn't completely botched, that is, which is what keeps me from having it done. That and the cost.
I know so many people who have had it done and love it. My neighbor, my husband's best friend, 4 women in my choir. Maybe in another few years I'll have it done too. Does it correct astigmatism? I have really bad astigmatism in my left eye.

| | I'll be opting for laservision in a few years.
My optomitrist gave me the bad news that I am going blind in my left eye a couple of years ago from not using it. I'm going to need laser surgery to make me nearsighted and then I can wear glasses to make me 20-20.
I haven't worn glasses since I was a kid...man that stinks!
Oh well....beats blindness I guess!

| | Years ago (long before kids) my husband needed new wiper blades for his Mazda Rx-7. The local auto parts store didn't have the right ones, so he decided on Saturday morning to go to the Mazda dealership to get them. He came home about two hours later.
He - "I'm sorry - I didn't mean to do it."
Me - "Do what? What's wrong?"
He - "I swear I wasn't planning on this."
Me - "Not planning on WHAT?!"
He - "I couldn't help it. She was just soooooo pretty. I just sat down for a minute, just to check out the new ones, I swear."
Me (growing very impatient - and not even remembering where he had gone) - "She? What? What are talking about?!"
He - "I'm really sorry. She wrapped her little arm rests around me and said 'Take Me Home, Big Guy!' How could I resist?"
In the driveway was a brand new RX-7, special edition, leather interior, big, fat payment book.
At least a tatoo is paid for once and then it's over! Then again, you can't trade it in if you change your mind!

If my husband were to bring home anything-it would be a power tool-he has this thing about tools

| | Okay....I went and checked the link....
What the heck is that???? I can see it's ment for trains of some sort...do tell me it's MODEL trains we are talking about, right? LOL!!!
My hubster is on this total body-building kick. (Well...it's lasted too darn long to qualify as a "kick" by now....) He always comes home with some new "creatine powder" or "fish oil tablets" or "mega mass bulk shake mix" or something like that every day. My flat is starting to look like a GNC.
I guess after taking a gander at that big hunk of metal your hubster bought, I'm glad mine is just buying shakes and stuff....at least those stay hidden in the shelves!

| | A co-worker was talking about how this kodak footbridge in Rochester used to have a flower seller on it. She'd get flowers twice a week.
Now she only gets flowers twice a year.
So I said unto myself: "Go buy Pookie some flowers."
And verily I say unto you: "Go buy flowers for someone you care for." |

And I took one of those neat flower pots we found in the Savannah Tea Room (one of the few good things about Georgia) and took one to work so my cube is prettier n stuff, too.
