Clap! New contest!

Update: : Epinions has graciously contributed a small gift for our second place winner! There are now TWO prizes to be won.

Update: : Contest no longer limited to 10 entrants. Come one, come all...just get there! This is going to be fun!

The rules of this contest are a bit different than most.

1) I will post a description of a fictional product in this thread. If you need more details about it, you may post questions here as well.

2) You, the writers must write a review of the product and EMAIL IT TO ME.

3) Deadline - 10am on Sunday, November 18

4) For a period of one week, ending at 10am EST time on November 25th, EA members will be allowed to vote on the submitted reviews.

5) The first place review will receive a $20 gc to Amazon.com (Beats Income Share yes?)

Amy

The product to be reviewed: A log.

Remember the spoof television commercial produced by Saturday Night Live (I believe) about the log, which was the latest craze in toys?

Well, your log doesn't have to be a toy. It can have any use that you desire.

It is about the size of a typical log that you would put in a household fireplace. It smells like fresh cut lumber, and is in good condition.

May the best review win.

I had thought it was on Ren and Stimpy (along with Powdered Toast Man)... Not really sure though...

Can I use my own log or do I have to go out and buy a new one?

Can I go over to my sister's house and borrow her log?

Ander, you are correct. It was Ren and Stimpy.

Regarding the logs - use the one you are most comfortable with. However, Income Share is notoriously higher on the newest models of logs.

By the way, it never occurred to me to note that these reviews will not be posted on Epinions! If they are good though, they might end up on Easily Addictive.

Question

I've misplaced the wrapper my log came in. Do you rate down if I'm not able to regurgitate the ingredients fully in my review?

Yes Ander. That's why I had to limit it to 10 entries. If the response is overwhelming, I will work on coding up another way for us to vote so that anyone who wants to can enter the next one.

You know, I have a bunch of sticks I've been wanting to review...and I don't see sticks listed anywhere on the site.

What do you think....can I post a review on my bunch of sticks and just note the differences between a bunch of sticks and a log?

Will I get in trouble for filing my review on an oak log in the pine log category?

Sorry, Duck, but I'd have to give a low rating on a review of just one stick. Now, if ya tied a bunch of them together and made them look like a log it'd be different.

So what's the second prize? Am I just an idiot for not being able to find what it is?

Cindy,
It's a surprise donated by Epinions. I don't even know what it is

OK, weird. You'd think they'd be the last ones to condone a not-helpful-to-actual-consumers thing like this.

Of course, maybe they're just happy that we're keeping it off-site.

How about a Duraflame? It has some of the same features, and some extra ones that a wood log doesn't even have.

I could add this to the top of my review

Please Note: This is a review of DuraflameŽ firelog not a Wood Log. When an appropriate link is added to the Fireplace > combustible materials category, I shall move my review. Thank you.

I enjoy Pooh sticks. I've never tried Pooh logs. Would it be similar? Would I hurt my back?

Can I get a tentative show of hands on how many of you think you want to enter the contest? If I see more than 10 of you, I will start frantically coding a ballot system so that everyone can play.
