Red face Online shoppers, confess!

Hi, my name is Andrea and I'm a shopaholic.

In an Epinionating sort of mode, I thought I'd run through the mothersite and check out the online shopping section. (I originally came to Epinions to review shopping but by the time they finally set it up, I wasn't in the Epinions groove.)

Anyway, I only got through a portion of the stores, and I've already marked 30 that I have shopped at.

Ooops. I guess I do shop online a lot. I guess the full total is probably 45 or so when you count the ones I haven't marked yet, and the ones that have gone out of business.

For the heck of it, I thought I'd run a poll.

Andrea
who hopes you make her feel in good company

It's the convenience.

Ok. Stop laughing. Of course it's the convenience.

But online retailers have taken great strides in making convenience convenient to everyone.

Used to be that you had to have the secret code, a hundred credit cards, know the inventory clerk personally, sign away your first three kids, etc before you could order online. Now anyone can do it. I mean, they let me order so they'll take anyone.

And I love being able to check the inventory before I get there, if you know what I mean. I hated running to the store for something specific only for the store to be out. But they'd be glad to give you a raincheck or order if from the warehouse...

Online, if they don't have it, I simply keep going, til I find someone who does have it. Makes it wonderful for people like me who are in to immediate gratification without us having to spend Saudi Arabia's oil budget on gas driving from store to store.

So.

It's the convenience.

Lynne

smileo

I pushed the last button.

Of course, many of my tastes are still firmly British, and about the only way to satisfy them is to order online and via catalog...

Alas, I've had problems lately with fulfillment (problems in the post) and with just having enough money.
