Canadian on-line shoppers -- lookie here!

I have many relatives in Canada for whom I shop. And this year, I am running a little late, so I checked out yahoo.ca and scoured the gift baskets selections. Though I found some neat sites, the most impressive by far was www.Atelierbasketcase.com. It is in the Montreal area, but they do ship to Canada. Several of their food baskets can be shipped outside of Montreal (I am shipping The Evening Nosh and The Mediterranean to BC). Of course, the advantage to me is my instant Canadian to US exchange discount. But the advantage to you is how these baskets present themselves!

The baby baskets are adorable -- the party favors fun -- and none of it is "cellophaned" prepackaged stuff sticking out of some paper grass filled willow basket shrink wrapped and slapped with a bow.

My sister should be receiving this order on Tuesday. I can't wait to see how it is received! I'll tell you if it's as gorgeous as it appears on the site. It's very pottery barn in its presentation -- which is unusual in the gift basket world!

I wish I could ship the apples and cheddar basket -- maybe I'll send it to my relatives in Pointe Claire and Dorval.

Happy Shopping!

Hey, that's great!

Last year I used a giftbasket service to send things to PEI, BC, and the States (clients and family) and I was very disappointed . This year I'm buying and packing my own boxes/baskets. However, I love the convenience of on-line ordering with direct mailing, so I'll save this site for next year. Please let us know how their service was this season.

Just thought I'd update...

The service at atelierbasketcase.com is exceptional!

I'm going to have to write a review...

The baskets my sister received were hampers with brass hardware. Everything was wrapped with brown paper and raffia. The marinated olives and marinated artichokes came in canning jars, also with raffia tied up around their necks. The fruit and bread weren't crushed or damaged. I can go on and on. It was so beautiful presented, and nothing is tacky or prepackaged. Though things may have been sealed in shrinkwrap for protection and preservation, they were all still wrapped in brown paper and raffia.

When I was ordering on-line, a glitch occured (don't hit the enter button while typing anything in the comment field -- it sends the order) -- I was concerned because it might appear I had a multiple order. I e-mailed late night, and not only received an e-mail back the very next morning, but my sister also received a call from atelier to confirm what time they'd be there to receive a perishable package. When she didn't return the call because the answering machine at it -- THEY CALLED BACK!!!

With next day service on perishables and such a beautiful presentation, I would highly recommend this site for truly outstanding gift baskets for folks in Canada. They only ship in Canada, and I have yet to find an equivalent as far as presentation goes on-line for the US...

Plucky? Got any ideas?
