Staying home, couldn't get much time off of work.

But, very blessed in that my parents coming up, pending weather, and my in-laws coming down...celebrating holiday together...me attempting to cook my first "large" family meal!

Should be a riot!

We are staying home again this year. My parents are driving up again to see us. They have done that for 5 years now. We need to pay them back one year and come down to Florida to spend Christmas with them.

Close to home as that is where our family is and completely unwilling to fly. Not just because of this weird fear I have newly acquired but I couldn't even imagine having to travel for the holidays.

I wont get on an airplane. Not just because of the tragedy of Sept.11th. It had to be an emergency for me to get on a plane... I hate them.

Winging home to Seattle on Friday - be there about a week.

Haven't been home for Christmas for four years and this year I really need family.

I'm flying home to Pittsburgh Xmas week. I don't drive, so I'd find it hard to get there otherwise.

I have hardly ever flown anywhere on a holiday, primarily because I could fly to visit family at least three times on non-holidays for the same price as I could fly once on a holiday.

My son flew to visit us on Christmas Day twice (the actual holiday is always cheap.) Once we were in South Dakota...his plane headed towards Sioux City, Iowa, was diverted to Des Moines...from there he was sent to Minneapolis...His plane finally arrived at about 11:30 p.m., at which point my husband drove 45 miles in a blizzard to get him...

We flew on Easter once, during a relocation (left on the holiday, also cheap, actually super cheap because my father-in-law, a TWA retiree, was still alive, and we could still use standby passes.)

I remember the attendant asking "Did anyone else give you anything to put in your bag?" My daughter was about 6. I said, "Only the Easter bunny."

Today they would frisk me for a comment like that

But no, my two sons in Missouri are driving down to see us, but I haven't ruled out going to St. Louis after that...since school is closed until January 7 and I have some flexibility and portability in what I do.

I'm staying home, and working at the retirement centre. The holidays are a hard time for many, especially those who feel they've been forgotten by family and friends. So, I think it is important to be there.

My parents are in Florida -- I may drive up to see my sister (a few hours away) later on Christmas day.

I'm flying home. It would be a 2-3 day drive by myself, and I don't want to spend that much of my vacation in a car and actually don't want to put that many miles on my car anyway. I flew at Thanksgiving, on American even, and it was no big deal.
