Well, look on the "bright" side. You may have used up 2002 and 2003 bad luck all in 2001!
Off to look for a bucket....

| | Amy, my friend who is Jewish celebrates what she calls "Jewish Christmas" every year. She goes out and gets Chinese food for dinner. Sometimes, she even goes out to the movies (since Chinese places and movie theatres are the only things open).
Happy Jewish Christmas Amy. It could be the start of a new tradition, if you enjoy it
And I'll stop by around noon with a few buckets of water, ok? |

| | Oh! I'll see what I can do to help....
Sylvan B, Confidential Assistant to the General Manager and Chief Engineer, Providence Water Supply Board
(I'm afraid your water dept. can probably deal with it faster than mine, though; it would take a lot of pipe).

| | Now THAT'S an idea! Lay more pipe!
Ok. Let's look at the problem.
We need to set up the inital pipe component at a place that has LOT'S of water. Fresh water.
How about we use snow intead?
We could set up a snow sucker (just turn around the moter on a snow blower) and have it suck snow into the pipe 24/7. Alaska or Canada will do.
Now, we don't want to bury the pipes, especially in the winter. Probably COULDN'T bury the pipes in the winter. So... We set it up on a track thing to keep it elevated. Now, we don't want track things with pipe all over the place, so we'll have to use a system that has been organized in the past.
Railroad track!
So we build the track things along the RR track system. Should be easy. The government has already gone to the trouble of clearing the byway, blowing up mountains that were in the way, etc. Smooth sailing.
And we don't want the pipes to freeze over, so we need to set up tiki torches along the way. The RR maintanance crews can track the tracks and the oil when the do their normal RR maintanance and inspection stuff.
Run it all the way to Amy's house.
I think it'd be cool. Added benefits would be that the tiki torches should keep the snow at a nice warm temperature, and would also make a very good emergency runway as needed.
There.
