Divorce--maybe not so bad

I found this article fascinating, and perhaps one of the more realistic and non-political views on the topic of divorce:

About 75 percent of children recover normally from divorce

Funny, I was listening to a talk radio show a few days ago that said exactly the opposite.

I guess anyone can find statistics to support his or her position if she looks hard enough (and we, the readers, don't know what to believe.

nicholmere will become famous soon enough

I liked this part:

Far better to understand the dynamics that sustain and threaten families. Far better, she writes, to accept that "divorce is a reasonable solution to an unhappy, acrimonious, destructive marital relationship." Instead of a narrow focus on the hazards, why not acknowledge that it can be an opportunity to build a better life?

I think it's important for those involved in a divorce to know that it is possible to pick up the pieces and move on to a better life.
