Winter is here

As the ex-weatherman for WUTV TV once said:

"It's snowing like a bastard out there"

Time for Toronto to call out whatever military is left in this country again.

It is indeed, snowing like a b-stard here

Where's the snowman smilie? !hat close enough

There's at least 5 inches on the ground, and it just keeps coming. My daughter (who hates snow, but is "in love" and played out in the snow with her BF last nite) said they are expecting 15" in NW Missouri where she's at college.

Lynn
enjoying the winter wonderland from INSIDE, thank you very much

It's misty here, but it's below freezing outside, so I am betting its all ice. I am carpooling with my mom today so I don't have to drive to work, or worse yet, back from work, when we get out at 11. Sometimes its wonderful to work the same place your mommy works

It's nice and sunny here. The air is slightly crisp, but overall it's a nice day.

Enjoy your snow!

We got about 5" on the ground and now it turned to freezing rain. Then it is supposed to switch back to snow again. Then we are supposed to get an inch of ice to top it all off again. Sounds like a blast, doesnt it? I am waiting for hubby to get home now. He works 45 minutes from the house, and will be hitting ice the whole commute.

We had about 36-40 hours of freezing rain. We've got over 2 inches of ice on everything

We lost most of our trees in our yard -- we didn't have power last night (okay we did - hubby is a ham radio operator and they seem to like generators) -- our driveway was blocked by three or four huge limbs . all night all you could hear were trees crashing down. At 2 a.m. a bulldozer came down the road to clear it (they didn't take the limbs away -- just pushed them into yards).

Everything outside is just grey and eeire looking

BUT we are all safe and warm and thankful it wasn't worse

Bridgette, we were hearing on the news tonite about how awful it was down your way.

They compared it to the Halloween storm we had in Omaha a few years ago. Thank goodness you didn't lose power for too long - there were some when we had all that ice that lost power for weeks. Keep safe down there, hear?

It's 8:00 p.m. and STILL snowing here. Guess we are making up for all winter....they are talking 7-10 inches, it's still coming down and blowing on top of everything else.

I'm just glad we dodged the freezing rain/ice. That is the WORST.

Lynn

Michigan definitely got winter yesterday! Actually southeast Michigan to be exact. Detroit and Ann Arbor was handed an ice storm...I live just north, and we got snow followed by rain. Conditions were so bad that I didn't even make it to work. Anyway, it's supposed to be windy today. On top of the layers of snow and ice things will only get worse

Too bad I'm not a teacher...my mom's getting all her days off
