Last year, BoostAmerica gave away coupons through Ford dealerships that entitled you to a free booster seat from Toys R Us. That promotion ended in October, but they are still giving away booster seats, this time in conjunction with United Way. From
http://boostamerica.org/uwgive.htm Through a grant from The Ford Motor Company Fund, United Way will distribute 500,000 booster seats through its participating agencies to preselected families who meet the agency's income eligible criteria.
Local United Ways will partner with the International Center for Injury Prevention (ICIP), a nonprofit organization specializing in child passenger safety, to provide recipient families with vouchers for the booster seats and information on proper seat selection, fitting and installation.
United Way agencies, working in conjunction with ICIP's local safety professionals, will conduct seat giveaway and "fitting station" events in each state over the next year and a half.
United Way will identify and select eligible families. The families will be prescreened and given a voucher that they can redeem at a Boost America! giveaway/fitting station event.
At each giveaway/fitting station event, selected families will receive the appropriate number and type of seat for each booster-seat weight and aged child in the family, either the:
Evenflo Right-Fit backless booster seat or
Century Breverra Contour Sport highback booster seat.
Because not all local United Way organizations are participating in Boost America!, income eligible families can find if their local United Way agency is participating by calling 1-866-UWA-SEAT [1-866-892-7328].
