Magazine Question

I've been trying to find out if there is a certain magazine listed on epinions. I'm having a really hard time clicking into the correct page to find the information I need. It takes me to arts 7 entertainment....then magazines....then the magazines have generic break downs such as sports, art, outside living, etc.

Well, the magazine I want to review doesn't fall under just any ONE of these classifications. If I'm having this much trouble finding a certain magazine, how does the general public find it when they have a name?

It used to be that magazines and books were done in an alphabetical format list. I loved that! If the magazine started with an M it was easy to find.

Does anyone know if that kind of listing still exists at epinions?

Thanks

oh, also, is there a place that we can get to from our profile page that breaks down the IS from the Editor pay? Or, do we have to keep track monthly and subtract the difference or add up each one individually.

Thanks twice

Sandy

I assume people looking for a specific magazine would use the search. I agree browsing for items when you don't know exact titles is problematic at best.

You can find your editor bonus under "View Earning Details|View redemption/other details"

Usually if the search feature doesn't return the results I like, I try backing into Epinions. I go to Google and do an "advanced search". Once I'm on the "advanced search" screen, I type in keywords (in this case the name of the magazine) and the url I want to search (www.epinions.com). You'd be surprised what you come up with this way!

What magazine is it? I know I can find things by searching much more easily when I know what I'm looking for...

Kurt,

It's called, "Men's Journal" and is a pretty darn good magazine.

Thanks,
Sandy

I used the search box to look for "Men's Journal", because I usually have great difficulty finding specific items when I follow the "find opinions on ... " selection from the home screen.

Wow! Thank you . I really had started to believe that it wasn't there. Now I have to decide whether to review a magazine that is this hard to find at epinions.

Thanks again
Sandy

I think that is an interesting point. How do visitors find the reviews? As the conversation in the sitemeter thread showed, some people would like to know how a visitor arrived at their review. Whenever I'm surfing a new site I go straight to the search box instead of trying to navigate their front page selections. So if I was a new visitor to Epinions I'd find your review pretty quickly. If I do not even know which site I need to visit then I use Google as my starting point. So if the review has made it on to Google then I'd go directly to the review and never even see Epinion's categories or search options. I've just spend the last half hour or so browsing through the magazine section. I could not find the Men's Journal in any of the spots I looked, and I even looked under erotica just to be thorough.

So if the visitor uses the search box or if they come from Google then your review should be easy to find, if the visitor tries to use the categories offered by Epinions then they'd probably get lost (at least I did).

I often read 'Men's Journal' at the barber shop. I'd be interested to read the review.

Glad it is in the data base.
