Charting is very important and can be a useful tool if understood correctly. I cannot begin to fathom what this website does aside from placing two charts on top of each other.
We have a totally different economy (world economy and not set on the gold standard) than we did during the Great Depression. We also have totally different technology than we did during the Great Depression. We have access to information instantaneously through the 'Net, and didn't have to wait until the news came in the morning (or evening) papers.
IMO, without great discourse as to what similarities exist aside from a purely coincidental chart, I give this about as much weight as I do gambling on when I'll sneeze next. |
