Not five years after screwing thousands of college students and launching with a marketing campaign that made New Coke look like the work of DaVinci, Daewoo Motors USA has filed for bankruptcy protection.

Possibly, Brian, but you're still going to see Daewoos on the road. GM will be selling them in Mexico and did buy several of the plants.

I also know some of the dealers involved in the legal fight. These are guys with vast resources at their command. They are not going to let GM pull out without exacting huge sums. I actually toyed with the idea of shorting GM, but in the end, I think the issue will be resolved through non-cash compensation.

I've interviewed 3 of the old marketing staff in the last week. What a free-wheeling circus that was at the end. No one knew which way was up.
