Does Anyone In Houston Know How To Count?

First there was Enron. Then Williams, Dynegy, Halliburton, El Paso and now Reliant. What I want to know is, did anyone in Houston watch Sesame Street when they were little? Is our own Mr. Simon going to issue a press release stating that, after examining old records, he is actually File 6?

Anyway, Reliant Resources now admits it overstated revenues in the last three years by 7.9 billion dollars.

Brian

P.S. This didn't even make the front page of the Saturday business section in the Chicago Tribune, and I had to do a search to find it on the Times site. Are we getting jaded about mere multi-billion dollar screw ups?

Edited to add post script and perform the usual clean up of my awkward phrasings.

Well, mshawpyle lives in Houston so it’s a good bet that at least one Houstonian can count.

We know MSP can read. We know he can write elegantly. However, I am not sure I have ever seen him work with numbers. Perhaps we shall have to wait for him to come along and provide proof of his abilities?

I can count just fine.

When I get to 15, I pop the clip and reload.

I guess we are that jaded. I'm betting not everyone in this thread had read that story, and even if they had, I'm surprised with how quickly it's gone off topic.

Big business is making a big mess. I hope we're not really this jaded. Why did I watch two news programs so far today, and read the newspaper, and not hear about this??? Is this really not news?

Isn't that the school where most people pack their lunch in Lethal Tupperware?

(Bad gun geek joke...see, Glocks are made out of plastic and, oh, never mind.)
