I used to work in a hospital. My mother still does work at that hospital, and yesterday was her first day back.
When she came in, her coworker had a great story for her (and, she in turn, has passed it along to me).
Back when I worked there, I got tired of explaining to my patients why we were giving them copies of their MRI films. Basically, orthopedic patients get films, neurology patients don't. They are responsible for bringing their films to their next appt, and if they lose them, we charge them (currently $10 per sheet!) if they request another set.
So, in addition to explaining why we were giving the films, I started printing labels on the jacket the films go into. It said what they were, where they were from, and what the patient was to do with the films.
They still use my labels today, and it actually saves a lot of hassles (reprinting those films is a HUGE pain in the ass and waste of time).
So... here's the story.
Some hospital down south got ahold of one of our patient's films (the patient is a patient of their hospital as well as "ours"). They read my label, and loved it. They called information to find out the number for the hospital I worked for, called my old department, and inquired where we order them from
They were prepared to shell out

for my labels.
Heheee.
Perhaps I should share my story with the people from the Avery corporation (who makes the labels that I printed on to)
