Well, no, not really. But I have to say, as a hotel professional *cough*, this has got to be the most brilliant ad campaign I've ever seen. Towel Amnesty Day
Now, if only the rest of the Holiday Inn staff and crew were as in touch as their national marketing department is...

(And speaking of their ad agency, I thought the "No, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night" campaign was brilliant.)

No, they want you to tell a story about a time you "accidentally" came home with one of their towels. And they'll donate a dollar to charity for each story submitted.
Personally, I think of Holiday Inn as the Nike of hotels... the actual product isn't all that much, but the advertising is gorgeous...

They were also the gold standard of training for the hospitality industry for many years. Their Holiday Inn institute trained a generation of hotel managers much the way that McDonalds University trained a generation of restaurant managers.

Their campaigns are outstanding. Remember the makeover one where they had a suppposed transsexual attending a reunion? They ran it during the Super Bowl several years ago and had to spike it after the outcry. But here I am typing about the spot several years later. |

Yes, but even the non-fast food restaurants looked favorably upon McDonalds University training.

Hell, when you consider the fact that it used to be a dorm, we do pretty darn good! So, as long as the club managers aren't talking about me, it's all part of the business. If they are talking about me, I can assure you they were totally drunk at the time they were talking to me and deserved what they got.

Sorry, they're my best customers. I'm not going to say anything bad about them. Especially since they truly are the most dignified, courteous, and motivated people I've met in the business.
