Looking for VD suggestions

Sorry, needed a title.

I'm looking for suggestions on promoting my Valentines Day dinner. Here is what I have so far:

Quote:
Valentines Day Dinner!

Valentines Day and Prime Rib go hand-in-hand, so why not treat your Sweetie to some of the most delicious Prime Rib either of you will ever eat?

Your choice of available drink (BYOB if it’s your favorite bottle of wine) and a dinner salad will put your meal into motion, and upon completion you and your Sweetie will be presented with a large cut of our slow smoked Prime Rib (approx. 1½” and cooked medium rare only). One of our large baked potatoes will be tagging along and hot dinner rolls will be available if you’re of the notion. (No Prime Rib would be complete without au jus and horseradish, so we‘ve included them.) If you happen to still be hungry after all this we’ll have a few choices of cobbler for you, and Mrs. Bluebell will be standing by just in case.

Complete meal for two: ?

This meal will be served by reservation only and the
BBQ Corner now has the books open. We will close the books at the end of business on February 7, 2004 and will only accommodate more if we can.
This has a cupid at the top and is bordering hearts that didn't transfer over. It is all centered and everything, but I'm lazy and ain't gonna do all that here. Looks pretty good for an old fat guy doing it, but does it sound like something that would draw?

The question mark on the price is because we don't know the exact price just yet. Gotta check with the meat guy tomorrow, but I'm thinking 40.00 to 50.00 for a table of two will be close.

Re: Looking for VD suggestions

Sign me up!!! Sounds absolutly enticing. Of course, we'd have to arrange a flight, hotel, rental car,---but hey those are details right???

Actually Dennis, it seems to be quite reasonable $$$ for a good meal. Will you decorate too????

Re: Looking for VD suggestions

LOL. I was thinking, "Gee what would be the better form of VD to get?" Didn't realize you were talking about Valentine's Day, not STDs.

You won't get anyone on Atkin's to come to your dinner -- ribs w/out BBQ sauce sucks, and potatoes are out. So are the rolls and pie.

Re: Looking for VD suggestions

Yum!

I'm in. Just need the flight and hotel package to go with.

Now, the copy could stand just a little more romance. (Romance the romance, pretty funny! )

Women judge the value of a VD dinner on romantic thought put into it, and men know that...so.... why don't you (thinking off the point of my head here)...maybe offer them a single rose to add on to the dinner? Not necessarily necessary, just thinking.

Somewhere, promise the guys that their womenfolk will think they are ultra thoughtful for having made a reservation at your place.

Andrea

Maybe something like this starting the second paragraph?

Thanks for the suggestions, BTW.

Wouldn't necessarily advertise it but I can always make adjustments.

Probably won't do a lot of decorating, Angie. Things like that just drive the costs up.

Re: Looking for VD suggestions

Hell, I'd go for this any day, with or without the rose.

(Hint: go for $50. You'll get more reservations. People like to pay more for something like this, it makes them think they're getting their money's worth. Andrea will back me up on this. I'll even go look up the Moxie Soda case to prove my point if need be.)

Re: Looking for VD suggestions

That is so funny, Eris. I was just telling a co-worker about buying a DVD player for my in-laws for Christmas. I got really upset because the DVD players I was looking at were $50 or $60 and I had to spend more on them.

Managed to finally find a super-de-duper 5 disc changer, Panasonic, for $114 and I feel much better.

Eris is right. $50 will make the men feel better than $40. Good number.

Re: Looking for VD suggestions

LOL, Jeff, I've never heard of serving BBQ sauce with prime rib. The au jus and horseradish are perfect though. The rose is a lovely gesture - and I agree that $50 is a good price for a diinner like this.
