I hate being the boss!!

Employees are driving me nuts. In the last month I've had to fire three. The latest was Saturday and it was a girl that had been with me since day one. She developed other interests and wasn't doing her job. Ordinarily, firing someone is not a problem, but in this case her mom just happens to be my manager.

I interviewed two for one job today, but it turns out that I have two openings now. The lady I hired last week told me just before the second interview that Wednesday would be her last day because I couldn't give her 40 hours. What the hell did she think part time was anyway?

Anyone want a job that is a lot of hard work and pays like crap?

Apply inside, please.

A job that is a lot of hard work and pays crap? How does crap compare with peanuts? Would that be an increase or decrease in pay for me?

Seriously, while I bitch and moan about employers today, I totally see your side of it (and have for some time). There are many employees out there that don't give a rip about anything, including showing up on time, doing what the job entails without bitching, etc.

I need a job where I can travel a lot to interesting places (Small Town America can be fascinating if you hit the right town), pays me a fortune, and lets me do things on my own schedule.

Anyone have any openings for that sort of job?

Re: I hate being the boss!!

How about someone finding a place where we can send all of these lacadaisical losers that have the following attributes:

1) lack of desire to do their job
2) attitude while doing their job
3) people with no professionalism whatsoever
4) people that look at you interrupting their "time" when they are being paid to do a job and provide you some sort of service

(Don't get me started. I am getting so annoyed going anywhere any more because you cannot find anyone that even really tries to do a decent job, whether it is a supermarket or a full-service restaurant!)

Re: I hate being the boss!!

Kim,

If you were insured with us, and you put in a claim on your house, and I was your adjuster, I guarantee you'd get the customer service you deserve. I go out of my way to provide it, because I treat my clients as I'd want to be treated in return... even if it means the tortured listening to the 80-year old widow talk about her wonderful B.M. that morning (yes, I really do hear stories like that).

Sometimes, that might not be a bad idea!

My major was related to this field very closely...but, I have to say, I am glad I am out of it. It's a tremendous amount of work.
